The 27th of September in the city of Cochim Anno 1771. The account was examined, consisting of the old debt of Alling, the debt of the merchants, and the arrears remaining on the captured cannon, and in accordance with the contents of the concluded contract, everything was accurately calculated and found to amount to a sum of 30985¼ Rop=s, of which, after mature deliberation with one another, a sum of 9250 rop=s was granted to us, so that we had to pay the remaining 21735¼ rop=s to the Honorable Company, just as Your Honorable Nobility, having received that amount for the account of the Honorable Company, had granted a receipt for it, which we have read in detail from Your Honorable Nobility's letter, and must testify that this arrangement is harmful to us; but since it has been settled to the satisfaction of Your Honorable Nobility, we are content with it. Although we have had to suffer a loss in this matter, we hope that all our affairs in the future will turn out more advantageously; and since Your Honorable Nobility has thus brought that matter to an end, we are completely satisfied with it. Furthermore, we have seen that against the delivery of the pepper of this year, under receipt, there had been provided to Ananda mallen 463 The 27th of September in the city of Cochim provided a sum of 2500 rop=s together with 1000 p=s guns according to the price stated in the contract, written by Baliametesetta Canaka ananja Peroemaal and signed by His Highness. Another by as above, written to the same as above, on the date aforementioned: The guns of the Nayars who are stationed in the fort on Paroe have become old and unfit for use; therefore, we request Your Honorable Nobility to provide 600 p=s guns with bayonets at the price of the contract under a proper receipt to Ananda Mallen and to place the cost thereof on the account of the pepper of anno 1771. Since we are currently in great need of guns, we request Your Honorable Nobility to have the goodness to deliver the same without delay. Written in the year Coilan 947 on the 25th of the month Chingem, or anno 1771, the 5th of September, by Balimeilesetta canaka Ananja Peroemaal, and signed Anno 1771 The 27th of September in the city of Cochim Anno 1771.
