452. 453. The 30th of August 1773. 73 The 30th of August 1773. Specification of the Purser concerning expenses incurred in the Bombay Commission in the amount of ro/a 4734:13— to approve the same. Further submitted being a specification, tendered by the Purser Monte, of what was paid in cash and supplied from the stores by him by order of the Honorable Director for the service of the Bombay Commission, which, pursuant to the secret resolution of the 6th of January last, was dispatched on the 15th thereafter from here thither, in the amount of R o/a 4734:13— or ro/ 4446: 31: in cash, and ro/a 287: 30. from the stores; so it was, although the couriers' wages charged therein amounting to Ro/o 454:— appeared somewhat high at first sight, but which upon a careful examination were found to have genuinely been disbursed, while all the remainder was issued and dispatched by him, the Purser, upon verbal orders, deemed good to approve that account with entry in these records, and to debit the Bombay Commission for the amounts thereof.
