The two copper frames required in the past year, as well as the kettles requisitioned this year, are now being sent over with this vessel, and the newly requisitioned frames were immediately contracted out to the merchants following the samples sent over. The tare of the sugar and camphor having been determined with all due attention, it was found to amount to 25 catties 10 taels 2 mace 9 candareens or 31 lbs scant per large canasser, and 21 catties 12 taels or 26 1/4 lbs ample per small canasser of camphor, and on the last-mentioned article 31 catties - taels 10 mace - candareens or 38 1/4 lbs ample per tub; which therefore, in comparison with the past year on the large canassers and camphor tubs (for as the small canassers were not brought forward previously, no comparison can be made of them), constitutes the following difference, namely: Powder Sugar: In the year 1784: 31 lbs scant In this year: 31 lbs scant Nothing more or less Camphor: In the year 1784: 37 7/16 lbs In this year: 38 1/4 lbs ample 1/16 more, mostly caused by a more ample allowance that the Japanese gave this year during weighing. Section 22. We also thank Your Right Honourables for passing the expenses of the Court Journey made in the year 1784, which this year was undertaken again according to custom by the first signatory, along with the secretary Ulps and advocate Duurkoop, on the 23rd of February, and accomplished without noteworthy incidents in 99 natural days, respectfully requesting that the expenses disbursed for that purpose, amounting to f 19244:15:8 or f 1442:19:- less than in the past year, caused by not having a new gunwale cloth made, may be approved. Section 23. We thank you for the honoured authorization for the purchase of a new norimon for the secretary, which accordingly has been purchased for 117 taels 2 mace 8 candareens or f 193:10:8.
